heya have a set of se slip on pipes on my nightster but i find clearence is an issue keep hittin front exhaust thus bending my header pipe 2nd one now dont wanna change height so was thinking of putting some v+h side shots on which will hopefully elimanate hittin front pipe,do i need a fuel pak etc if i just do exhaust or will it be ok to run without?i know there will probaly be a bit of popping but get that now with the se slip ons thanx pistol.

Yeah, you'll get a fair bit of popping, but if you haven't changed your air filter at all, you *should* be right to just do the pipes. Though she'd probably thank you for a stage one and some more air and fuel, especially in the warmer months if you do any congested traffic runs.
I imagine you'll buy yourself a bit more clearance with the sideshots, being shorter and tucked in fairly tight against the bike, but don't be surprised if you find you are still scraping.

Someone I met a while back had short shots on his nightster and said the noise drove him crazy. I have an Iron coming and want to fit them to that and am wondering if the quiet baffles do anything? Anyone know how an 883 goes with short shots?

gettin side shots not short shots, yer they will be louder noise isnt a problem loud pipes save lives

Put black sideshots on my 06 883, freaken LOVE em! new jets in the carby, quite a noticable difference at the rear wheel.
Dont know if thats cause i tend to give it a bit more now though, love to ride them loud, do keep an eye out for the boys in blue, pull the clutch in and idle past, no dramas yet i do cringe when i have start the bike 0430 in the morning though. No ones complained yet though, touch wood!
Clearence wise, ive got shorter shocks and am always grinding my forward controls, havent scratched these yet and i used to scratch the stock pipes.

well i finally got me pipes v+h side shots in black,took me a couple hours to fit with a mates help farkin stoked as with em lot louder than the old pipes probaly cause have no baffles had a few looks from the filth but all good, next stage is breather n fuel management was tossing up between roland sands and the velocity short stack not sure which way to go yet
