hey all, hows this sound, dna triples - 6 degree rake and 2 inch over forks,?

to dress up the front of my 99 wide glide

I'm doing my front end soon so I've been doing some research on this, I've been told not to go any more than 4 degrees on the wideglide as the wideglide is 2 or 3 degrees more than softail any way, and anymore than 4 degrees will compromise handling pretty bad. If you were to go 6 degrees you'd prob have to go 4 inch over forks.
With mine I don't want the front to sit any higher than standard and I'm still trying to work out if 4 degrees is ok with only 2 inch over forks, 3 degrees is ok with 2 inch over.
A mate has 5 degree with 4 inch over on a softail and the front sits about an inch to high, so theirs some sort of guide...
I haven't done mine yet so this info is only what I've been told so far in talking to others, I hope to do mine in next 2 months....
If you do yours please post and pics let us know how you get on..........
If anyone knows I've got it wrong please correct me....

3 Deg Stock Lengh works well, 5 Deg 2" over , I've got a set of 3 on Ebay right now

I converted mine superglide with custom wide trees with standard rake and a 21 inch wheel

after discussions with the supplier, ive decided 3 degrees to go with my 2inch overs. will post up pix when installed. cheers for everones input ......

Walka ~ if I went 3 degree standard forks on mine, I have 11 inch shocks and It's pretty low would I have probs being to low???

wilso ~ let us know how you go with the 3 degree and 2 inch over, I'm thinking I want 4 degree with the 2 inch over, but decision ain't final till I get the kit......

 

And what is the difference in standard rake between custom softy and wideglide???

The Rule is ruffly this........ 3 Deg and 1"over , 5 Deg and 2", 6 Deg and 3" and for 7 Deg you would need 4" over,
All These combinations will give you a Stock Ride Height,,,,, 3 Deg and Stock Legs will only drop the Front down 1"

after speaking with my supplier/chop shop, went with 2 inch overs and +3 degrees in the trees. bit of a fuck around to fit up but got there in the end. im stoked with the new look, and rides like a dream. lost a little in the turning circle due to my mod, changing trees from internal stop to suit my external stop, but minimal. changed the headlight to acheive the look i was after and all for snip over $1000.

thinking of selling original wideglide set up to go towards new bars etc to top it all off, if anyones interested pm me with offers. cheers wilso
