the build 08 being an 09 model is like this..... At some point in the later half of say 1996 HD and every other motorcycle company release it's new model for 1997, that is the model new going into that year, whether rego papers say 1996 or 1997 means nothing when ordering parts etc, it's what the manufacturer says the year model is. My bike is build 12/96 in the states, but it's 3/97 compliant in Aust and the NSW rego papers say it's a 97 model and it was manufactured in 96...........
hi, i can see how that bringing a new model release 2/3rds thru the year can stuff thing around a bit esp buy the time they make the bike & then ship it over thru the dist then the dealer, timing etc ,
these bikes new model release is for the america's spring/summer so the new models line up with there fall , after some states to cold or snowed-in for 3 or 4 months of the year its all for there new bike sales how would you feel after 3/4 mths of snow wanting /waiting to buy a new bike , & then 2 mths later have it de-valued as 1 year older it all revoles around what the yanks want its they perferance it is there bike, if it wasn't for the yanks we could be speaking japanesse (WW11) & that would be real bad , it could be worse, its been & old debate even 15 + years ago when harley moved there model release to there own liking , we all can be a bit touchie when it comes to our motorbikes or girls if its got wheels or tits i will cost you money either way ,
& enjoy your motorbike thats what we buy them for , some people can't ( would like to but can't afford to as e.g. cheers
