G'day all. Man am I glad I have the Harley Assist membership. Cruisin through the M5 tunnel felt the back end start slidin out and before I knew it I had my first flat in 20yrs of riding.
So here is me and the missus stuck in a stinkin tunnel lookin stupid next to the 08 with a huge nail in the tyre. The M5 contractor tow arrived and had no idea how to strap it up without scratchin the shit outta it. Was nice enough to drop us off at a servo outside the tunnel where i called Harley Assist for the first and i hope the last time. Within 30 mins a huge van from a company i think was called Moto Motion arrived and loaded up the RK with the utmost respect to scratching. Then we were driven from near the airport back to base at Casula and dropped off at the door.. Didnt cost a cent. Good to know that although i dont expect to break down on a new HD shit happens and we get looked after. Great stuff Harley Assist
Hell yeh ....or I'll have to buy a trailer and teach my son to drive.
yeah but now you know why I got rid of the spoked rims off my RK.Got stuck a long way from home once with a flat on my Heritage and not an easy fix with spokes.So much easier to just take the nail out and fit a plug and pump up,rather than take the bloody wheel off and remove the tyre and fit a tube.BUT all that said,Harley assist does come in handy.Mate of mine had a blowout on his 08 Electra Glide while he was touring in the NT and he was about 300km from the nearest bike shop,Harley Assist came to his rescue as well.So he intends to renew it when it runs out after the initial free 1 year period.
