G'day fellas. Been lurking around here for a bit and been a member of hdforums.com for a while. Thought I should say hello. I'm kind of based in Port Lincoln (ex Ceduna boy) and work up at Olympic Dam on a 2 and 1 roster.
Just traded in my old '98 FXD yesterday on a FXSTC 105th Anniversary. What a cracker she is too. Took her for a little 250km run this arvo and was pretty surprised how comfy it is straight out the box.
Haven't done much to it yet, just the basics. S&S slash cut slip ons, SERT and K&N. Swapped out the bright orange blinker lenses for the smoked ones and put a chrome cover on the voltage regulator. I've got a rack for the rear fender but still deciding whether to put it on or not. Looks great without it and great with it.
Next on the upgrade list will be grips & pegs. Had the Kuryakyn ISO grips on the old girl and loved em. I should do something different with the new one though. I need to extend the forward controls coz I'm a tall bloke. Then I reckon some slightly taller, fatter apes. Maybe 12.5".
Anyway, here's a pic. Not a real flash setting, but was too busy enjoying myself to stop for photos.
sweet bike mate... welcome to the forum
NOT ANOTHER 105 ANNIVERSARY !!!!!
No seriously, nice ride mate and welcome to the forum
welcome
Sweet lookin bike
welcome from melb
Yes Uncle
It appears that there is more 105's than rabbits
Thanks guys. At least it's the only one around here as far as I know. Most of Cowley's 105's have been sold to customers in Adelaide and interstate apparently.
Didn't get in as much riding as I wanted to over the weekend. Got 450km on the clock so far and I'm stoked with the power and comfort. Just ordered Kuryakyn ISO grips, pegs, etc. Heading back to work today so I'll have something to play with when I get back in 2 weeks. I was going to go for one of the HD sets but I had the Kuryakyn gear on my Dyna and was happy with the comfort and look of them. Argh!!! Two weeks without my new baby.
If I lived in SA I'd look after it for you mate.... really I would... I would even book it in for the 1600Km service after just one day
G'Day from the Top End NT. Enjoy the ride.
G'day Sounder,
