I have just received my renewal notice from Swan Insurance for the ST1300 that I use as work hack  and rally bike. Nearly $1K for $26K cover. WTF is going on, the Ultra was $650 for $40K cover.

I got an online quote from Insure My Ride, and it was only $500. Has anyone else used this insurance or had any dealing with them?

    Thanks for any info.

    Regards Bob

I looked at them the other day, I can't remember what it was but there was something in the fine print I didn't like, so tread carefully....

I got a quote from them (Insure my Ride) for the new Ultra and it came back at $1400!!! I got a quick call back about 5 minutes later saying that they had me down for no no claim bonus when it should be the full 60%, a quick recalculation still came to $1100 which by my maths was still way too high.

Ended up with QBE, $618, have only had one claim in 6 years and there was no probs at all.

QBE gave me a $5 refund to insure a new softail and from memory it cost me less than $600 last year. If you go with another company make sure you compare what you get for your money.

I just got my 09 nighttrain with insurance through the stealer is with QBE premium is $880 insured for $33600, Insure my ride quote was $885 same excess and cover but estimated traveling more k's than the stealer put through QBE.

from past experiences claims aren't too much of a problem just need to know your stuff and yell loudly when ya dont get what ya want.

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a go. The $450 saved can be put to better use.
