     Hi All,

Thinking of getting Screamin' Eagle® 110 Cubic Inch Stage I Ki.
Just wondering if anyone here has installed one and if it's worth the asking price?
It's a big upgrade so need to make sure that the money are well spent!

    cheers

The best option is get a pro to do it who knows the business and the parts. This is where many Harley dealer mechs. are lacking.

The Screamin Eagle 110 inch kit alone will not give you alot of power without cams, increasing compression  and everything else.  I don't reckon its value for money.  Buy aftermarket or keep original setup and improve.

1.Get new heads and get the cylinders bored (make sure you cool the engine down with new cams, new air cleaner etc or it will ping as it gets hot faster due to size of engine). 2. get the original cylinders bored and keep the original heads, increase compression, change cam, air cleaner, pipes. There are also business in the states that do these performance upgrades everyday (you can find them on the net).

Edelbrocks one that does cylinder heads & other parts and S&S  have good quality parts also. Wild things performance by kuryakyn has some interesting options for engine upgrades and cams.

Overall get someone to do it who knows what there doing and preferably a business who specialize in Harley perormance upgrades.

Jees boys, you've scared me shitless here.
Here I am, thinking I'll just buy a factory stage 1 kit, have it professionally installed and horray, get 110 Fat American Ponies. Yea, wishfull thinking.
But I guess I couldn't have been more naive.

Thanks heaps waynekerr, DAZZA, karlockdrain, shadowhand and of course pizzlin for setting me straight.
    I promise I won't do it again.

One a positive note and if I understood you correctly, I have two sensible choices:
    1. Get 103 SE kit, with aftermarket heads, providing that would not void the warranty
    or
    2. Get a proper 110+ kit aftermarket kit and "go out on a town" with the engine work.
    What do you think?
I am inclined to get the 103kit put in aa a short term "fix" and in a long term, I'll hunt around for S&S 110+cc engine, complete with tranny?

I would love to know karlockdrain (if you don't mind) how many coins ($000's) did it cost to get to where you are at right now, with reliable 117kit?
I would very much prefer to keep my warranty, hence 103kit only for standard 96 engine. Do you recommend any particular heads? Todate I had my work done at Peter Stevens or do it myself depending on the skill level required for the job. I would love to give another shop a fair go, especially after my last experience at PS.

What are my chances of finding good 2nd hand S&S engine with tranny?
Keep in mind, that I am all new to the Harley game over here, and on a sharp learning curve. (so far, love every minute of it)

    Cheers
    Vlad

awesome drag, Karls' bike has some go ah!
Sounds like the GMR 107 kit is the go.
Karl, who did the install for you?
Did you have any issues with the 107 kit?

I already have SERT and V&H short short and SE filter. Apart from 107kit (complete) do I need anything else?

If it was me choosing between 110 & 103.
I'd go 103. There's enough power there for the road & its cost effective & efficient.
    9.5:1 compression
Change crankshaft bearing to a heavy duty bearing.
    Change Cam (Andrews or Kuryakyn).

I'm pretty sure the upgrades will void your warranty where ever the works done.
