Just got back from the RBH, on friday I was taking my T140 bonny for a test ride after some major work and 1block from home the rear chain snapped, locked the rear wheel and spat me off.

I've got bruises all over and 5 fractured ribs (I collected the handlebars on the way over the bike). The main thing that's pissing me off is that after all the work I put into the bike, the Insurance mob will most likely write it off as the chain cracked the main cases.

Just to show you how Qld hospitals work, I was put in a 4 bed ward overnight, they put one bloke accross from me who'd just attempted suicide, he then got moved and they put his 80year old bloke with dementia next to me who proceeded to go off his nut for the rest of the night. Got no sleep, sore and cranky and the bloody doc had the gall to say he wanted to keep me another night. I told him what happened, said stick it and went home.

It only hurts when you laugh....ribs will repair... With every breath they let you know there there..good luck with recovery, & bike...which is probably more important to you at this stage. Don't you hate it when you find a new way of coming off.

    Swoody,

Bad to hear that you're in the same boat, how's the bike? mine was written off by insurance, it had a crack right through the maincrank casings.

The mates have been having a laugh at me as I only did 5 ribs, they say that I'm one short of a six pack and this is proof.

That's my greatest fear. Riding along minding your own business, and.....!!! I broke a belt on my Sporty at 100k's and luckily, nothing happened. Why did your back wheel lock up??

The rear chain got jammed up in the crankcase, thus the rear wheel could not turn, and as the drive is on the left the bike swung to the left and flung me off.

Sorry to hear that!! I'm glad you're still living and breathing and you'll probably be laughing about it all in a couple of months.
