hey guys ive got a stock 96 incher (efi) with  ya standard mods  pipes aircleaner but still havnt got that  traditional harly loud spluttery sound   i    understand    i need to build up the compression and so forth just wondering exactly what i need and what to do  and which cams are going to get me closer to the result im after. Also thinking about a set of straight threw pipes ie la choppers or martin bros (madustas)are these pipes compatible with the engine. Thanks kiwi.

Kiwi, the reason the old Harleys like Knuckle Pans & Shovels make that sound is they were not as efficent as EVO up, the Pans sound like a stroker shovel, they all throw un-burnt fuel into the pipes and it burns again in the pipe. but, the new stuff is nice and easy. don't go overboard build it for torque. i have a twin cam that has sonic tappered turbo's they are one peice not slip on, no cross over. people come up to me at the track and say how good it sounds. but who knows. everyone has there own idea what they like.
