changing grips

    Ditto with the throttle side. They have small ferules that clip onto the cables and are inserted into the throttle band. They are a bit of a bugger to get off and worse to get back on. Don't do them in poor light or dirt as they are a bastard to find. The left hand side should clip under the switch housing but mine still span around which was annoying. I used quick grip on mine as the stuff they sent with the grips was crap and only held on for a week or so. haven't had a problem since.

    I remember having to put a 4mm thick cardboard insert between the brake lever & lever bracket otherwise you can do damage to the rubber boot & plunger of the front brake switch. A mate of mine f$%ked his before I told him, hope I'm not late this time ?? This was on a softail, I don't know if it applies to a Sporty ??

    Too long since I did mine but it made sense at the time. I just looked at my workshop manual and it says almost exactly what I stated above.
