I was checking my oil after our long run a couple of weeks back and got a shock when my mate said I was checking it wrong.

He reckons the bike should be on the stand when I check the oil but I have always stood the bike level.

We're talking about a 1997 Dyna Super Glide here so if anyone can categorically say either way it would be appreciated.

they do say on the jiffy   stand       , y not just the side stand

told to do mine on stand, :-)

on the side stand and hot but you can be a lazy bastard like me and buy one of them flash ones and just press the button and it tells ya

 

It tells ya on the dipstick on a softail (I know dyna thread)
on the side stand an hot,,, It does on mine anyway
