    OK all you HD gurus, why do they call the Road King style headlamp a "Hiawatha"?

    i think it is because when ya see a roadking coming at ya the first thing ya see is the headlight coming down the road so ya say to yourself HIAHAFTA get me one of them.

    because of where they sit..........on the Road King they are a "Hiawatha..........
    on a sporty they are a "lowawatha".............

    awwww.....sporty gags arnt as much fun any more now thast Toxic sold the Nightster...........

    I saw it in an Open Road magazine (NRMA in NSW), and remembered I'd heard it somewhere before. It was a pretty crappy article.

    I agree, Scotty. The item is actually a nacelle, similar to an aero engine casing, but this one has a name for the STYLE of nacelle. Don't know that I can see an indian headdress though. Anyway, Hiawatha was a sheila. Wouldn't she have simply had a headband with one feather sticking up at the back??
