lowering my 09 electraglide?

       hey guys

                  has anyone used the lowering kits that every man and his dog are selling on the us ebay site

          finding that my 09 flht sits me up about 1" ta 2"  too high off the ground havin trouble backin the bike and such

      and will sure as hell drop the fuggin thing one day

      have just ordered a sundowner seat and hopin that might help

     any how i find  the  new seats are a pain in the arse doin big ks

    My theory is that you need all the suspension travel you an get, so don't lower it.

    Get adjustable air suspension with an on-board compressor, so that when you're pushing it around you can drop the ride height, and when you're riding it, you can raise it so you still have the full suspension travel.

    I used Progressives and built my own auto control system, so that it's lowered every time I stop. That's 'cos I'm 5'3".

    There are others on the forum with various air suspension systems and compressors. Haven't heard any of them complaining.

    Oh, and another thing...

    If you're worried about dropping it (because they're so bloody heavy), it's worth getting the "Ride Like a Pro" DVD. Yeah, I know, I should be riding a stepthru. But I've been riding for 36 years, and I learned a lot. Handling the big twins at slow speeds can be really challenging, and it's amazing what you can do after watching and practising.
