SHANNONS INSURANCE BULLSHIT

Rang Shannons recently about my insurance policy with them, which is a theft/third party coverage.I heard a rumour going around that you "can't ride your bike more than once/ twice a week" under any type of insurance policy with them. I re-read my Shannons Brochure/booklet and it doesn't mention that. Whilst talking to the info chick, I said to her "What if I ride my bike (motorcycle) to work every day?" Her answer," we won't insure you/your bike then!!" WHAT THE FUCK DO THEIR ADS SAY, quote "So when it comes to insurance for your special car,DAILY DRIVE,bike,or even your home, there's only one personyou should talk to- A FELLOW ENTHUSIAST at Shannons.  What a fucken wank. You all have seen their ads, read it and let me (and the whole world) know if I'm talking shit.  I also said to her " What if I'm going away for a few days or more, riding/touring etc? She replied "How often do you do that?" A coupla times a year I replied. "Oh, that's okay then" said her.Duh, WTF?                              "NO ONE KNOWS YOUR PASSION LIKE SHANNONS."  Yeah, right

how are they to know you ride to work every day?

What ever day (touch wood) it gets knicked or some gutter rash, it will be on the 1 or 2 days you were riding it.

+ 1 on that one springer i have my house bike and car insured with them there prices seem reasonable hey philthy just because you ride it everyday doesn't mean you are going to make a claim everyday if it does happen well that is one of the days you rode that year.

I hear ha on this one Alby. I've got a stable policy with them, my HD and MG are on a limited basis and my daily driver is for everyday use. Cheaper premiums and can keep the wreck if it ever happens. If you have a limited use policy, which sounds like Philthy, then they won't cover you to ride to work every day. But hey...... how will they know?

I'm insured with Shannons for my 3 bikes, car, household and extra for the contents of my garage.

Car got extensivly hail damaged in the storm last november here in Brisbane, $13500.00 worth of damage.

Shannons came to the party straight away, single quote and recommended I see the top repairer in Brisbane. Cars fixed, no change to the premiums, gotta be happy with that.

I'll have to do some study on the matter. Like someone said, they'll ask the neighbours/workmates and other parties if ya ride regularly(when your claiming after a stack) then your fucked. Why would they say they won't  insure your  every day ride? Because they know they'll catch ya out.  Smith & Wesson or Bentley used to be   good insurers, and fucking big agro dogs!!!! Too hard to have either  anymore, the crooked cops took em                                                                                                      I'll pay the premium, shut the fuck up, and ride off into the sunset.(Once a week of course)     Nuff  said on the subject.

I have 4 vehicles insured with Shannons and have found them very fair to deal with so far although I have not needed to make a claim. I am in the process of increasing my cover due to the high cost of accessories now fitted and have discovered that by merely fitting new wheels my bike has become more prone to theft so my policy has increased by about $50 without any increase in the sum insured. I guess they're right even though it seems a bit steep! Better to know these things in advance though!

A mate has Harley, Trike and Spyder with them and they compare well. I haven't had a scooter for a bit and QBE are much cheaper, even after 12 months. Fine print is fucked. The local assesor is a HD rider and 'does the right thing'. Don't know anyone that has claimed but all words are good for QBE. Rockers are more sought after (Fuck your opinion Bucket) and QBE are still heaps cheaper and cover more. A mate (Suncorp rep) cover the rest for much less than anyone else, even with packages.

    insurance sucks

Have over the last couple of years put everything with Shannons, 4 cars, house, contents and Norton, Bought the Fatbob three weeks ago got the grilling about have you ridden a Harley ,whats the biggest bike ridden, member of clubs etc, limited ride (which is only me anyway) and best price i could find,I get salvage on the bikes and cars which is a big draw card and agreed value. Wouldn't you know it , step daughter who has her car on my policy ran a stop sign last Saturday, totaled her car and the other, no injuries thankfully, Just about to go thru my first claim with them so we will see how good they are, already they have told me my rating drops from the 65 to 45, but i can live with that

Got my 08 Road King, couple of 30+ year old Kwaka Z's, wifes 650 cruiser, 77 Celica w/ V8, Turbo Diesel Mazda3, and house & contents insured w/ shannons, had to make 3 claims this last year, Mazda/roo, Mazda/wife, and kwaka fell over in trailer during interstate house move, Shannons has been great. After first claim they tried to up the premium, one of their full timers called me, brought it to my attention and said he'd fix it, cool!
    Cheers Coxy
