My 09 Road King Classic that's done 5000ks, and has had the exhaust crack through the weld just before the right side muffler. Anyone had a problem as I read in Heavy Duty Mag that there could be some issues with the new exhaust set up on the 09 touring models

All fixed, got her back today. They cannibalized a bike from the showroom floor. Thanks all

My 09 Ultra broke the black muffler support (that the rubber block sits in) about 4 weeks after picking it up. Had it welded up by a mate and never bothered getting a replacement from Harley.

Must be a problem with them, any other 09 bagger owners have a problem?

Gruvy I have a 09 Roadking with an exhaust crack in the same place. It seems to be a common problem with this model although the dealer has never heard of it. Can you tell me what edition of heavy duty mag you got your info from.

    Thanks BLG

    Thanks guys,

Got it picked up by Harley assist yesterday they wanted to take it to the closest dealer but I "gently" persuaded them to take it back to where I bought as it was already booked in for a service and a replacement tank under warranty due to a slight imperfection. I just hope I dont get bummed around with the replacement pipes as I hanging for a ride already.

    Thanks again BLG

Done about 13k now since the replacement, all seems to be going well.

Apparently there’s only a problem with the Californian and international builds as they are the only bikes fitted with the butterfly flap that breaks; EFI crap. You can actually order an exhaust with or with out it. If you look at it you will see that where the flap is situated, it has welds either side. Looks like they just did a cut and shut job.
