My 09 Road King Classic that's done 5000ks, and has had the exhaust crack through the weld just before the right side muffler. Anyone had a problem as I read in Heavy Duty Mag that there could be some issues with the new exhaust set up on the 09 touring models
No parts in Aust, with a 4 week wait
Mate had same prob, had to wait for 4 weeks for a part...i called Harley Australia and read them the riot act...had parts here in three days...call them and don't take no for an answer.
My 09 Ultra broke the black muffler support (that the rubber block sits in) about 4 weeks after picking it up. Had it welded up by a mate and never bothered getting a replacement from Harley.
Must be a problem with them, any other 09 bagger owners have a problem?
Gruvy I have a 09 Roadking with an exhaust crack in the same place. It seems to be a common problem with this model although the dealer has never heard of it. Can you tell me what edition of heavy duty mag you got your info from.
Thanks BLG
it must have been aprils or Mays, gruvy
Done about 13k now since the replacement, all seems to be going well.
Gruvy
Apparently there’s only a problem with the Californian and international builds as they are the only bikes fitted with the butterfly flap that breaks; EFI crap. You can actually order an exhaust with or with out it. If you look at it you will see that where the flap is situated, it has welds either side. Looks like they just did a cut and shut job.
