Clear coating polished alloy

I'm getting my shovel rocker boxes polished as they were pretty daggy. I don't want to have to keep polishing them. The rear / lh/s of them is a real bitch to get to. Didn't want to go chrome as i like the greyish color of the shovel rocker boxes..

I'm after some advise / opinions about painting them in a 2pak clear or simialar? Most polished  finish alloy wheels have some kind of clear coating that seems to last ok, not  as much heat on the wheels though i guess.

    Ideas?

    Cheers.

What about clear powder coat, not expensive and should handle the heat ok.

I am not a paint expert but I would ask if the clear would yellow in time.
Have you considure other types a of platting, satin finish. Not sure if it exists but you never know. A decent platter should have an idea if there is a product available.

2 Pack would handle the heat and the colour/finish you are after shouldn't be to difficult to achieve but a stone chip with stand out and assembly may chip the edges.
