I just got the 1 year service (7100 K) and was told the tyres were had it. I looked and saw the front right edge was near stuffed and the back was patchy in the centre.

Any others find early tyre wear, or is it just cause they have far too mnay fuckin round-abouts up here ???????????????????.

What is the best new rubber to trow back on ??? I used to love Yokies and Avon on other bikes. Any ingo is apreciated.

Been through the mill with tyres Tengy.....On my fourth set in 34000......Currently got Metzlers 880's and the rear is 50% after 4500ks, looking at about 7500 tops...Front will be better but still not as good as Dunlops I had previously.....I intend to go back to Dunlop 407's next change.....other brands are iether hard to get, partic 200 rear, or are intended for lighter sports bikes.....

9000km and done the front once and will be on my third rear next week.

Going to try an Avon Cobra on the rear.

Majority of my riding is highway riding, straight line stuff, no lovely smooth hot mix bitumen. All rough as guts tar and gravel.

I had checked pressure a few times it it hadnt seem to change. Many many many round-a-bouts up here and they take their toll.
I was thinking about a front tyre exchange with our American brothers.
Thinking about giving the Metz a spin to compare them, if they only last one year I will be able to remember the comparison :-)
Will leave some feedback on how they go.

Just do what I'm doing....keep putting it off and off and off. Eventually you'll see 15000km out of em...than you see the belts....then ya see the back of a ute.

I got circa 14.000 km out of my rear and 21.000 km out of my front (both Dunlops).

They were completly bald when changed.

    Hi BT

You know that I ride like an old lady - Ms Daisy.

But I must say that the front tyre was an absolute slick mate and there was not much left from the rear too. Got my money worth

Normal wear for me has been very consistant with each tyre change, I always get around 12,000km out of the rear and 7 to 8,000km out of the front. I ride as hard as anyone as far as cornering is concerned (you can only lean until you scrape on the bitumen) usually two up and I keep the tyre pressure spot on. Always stuck with the Dunlops because nothing I've read seems to be an improvement and the Dunlops grip is fine.

Sounds OK, I was just curious to see what others were getting. in a previuos life I was getting 3-5000 K outts a tyre but they never let go.

Need to get some more time to get out more but work and a businees and kids take up lots of time.

Don't mind puttin new rubber on cause it's what keeps my arse off the tarmac. Might give the Metz a spin when I change out.

    Thanks for the responses

Got a new Dunlop D407 (dual compound) fitted last week and went for a ride last weekend, compared to the Metzler 880 the Dunlop handles much better, in the wet too. Cranking it in sweepers was very positive.

We will see what kms I get out of it....

I got 90-90-19 on the front and was thinking of going 110 or so on the front to give me some better tyre wear and might give better handling and match the wide arse on the rocker.

nayone thrown a wider front on and how did that affect the ride.

I have a bad habit of going up one or 2 sizes from stock on just about anything. :-)
