I've been looking at the idea of setting up a national Events Calendar within this site.  The calendar would allow members of the site and even members of the public to post events and organised rides on the calendar.  I've also had the thought of integrating it with a notification list so that members who subscribed to the calendar in their states would be automatically notified of events or rides happening in their location.  I've also thought about integrating it with Google maps so that people could instantly see a map to the event or ride.  I've taken the first step in setting this up by creating some mailing lists for people to subscribe to.  These can be subscribed and un-subscribed to through the site.

To subscribe to your state's list :

1) Log in to the site (if you aren't already)

2) Click on your username at the very top right of the site (next to the logout link)

3) Click on "Manage Services"

4) Then subscribe to the relevant state mailing list
