howdy i get the feeling there are many different thoughts on this so i'll ask more directly what i would like to know , on the front i have a factory thunderstar wheel and standard on rear so whats the widest tyre i can get fit on the front as i'd like a bit chunkier one and maybe a bigger patch on the road and like wise with the rear . Also some thoughts on brands as the factory tyres were rooted after about 6000 kms front and rear but i like handeling over milage and in previous tyres i have always swung with metzlers . Also with the front any photos on how it looks with a slightly wider tyre would be great.

    Cheers Wayne

Can't answer your main question but here's an idea I've been mulling over for a while now.
Use the Softail install kit in a 19 inch Dyna wheel to lower the front approx. 1 inch to help with the styling of a lowered rear and for you the bonus is the 19 incher is wider than the 21. Problem, will need to get a Dyna front guard and modify it, possibly with bits cut from the Softail guard. This would also solve the "21 inch front guards don't bloody sit right" issue. Or go without.
