Has anyone out there changed their mini apes on a softail custom across to T bars?

I am thinking of changing to Burleigh T's and wondered if they offer better long ride comfort.

I am 5:11 and have retained the factory seat.

    Any reply would be appreciated.

    Hey Steady,

I put Burleigh T bar's with 8" risers on my 08 FXSTC.  Found the min-apes too uncomfortable and the T bar's a "natural" height for comfort.

PM me and I'll email you some pics.

    Cheers

I have Black 1 3/4 8" Burleigh T-Bars on my fatboy, love 'em. When the black pipes arrive the bike will be fine!

Im on my second set of Burleigh T-Bars , they seem to rust very easy, around the welds, they replaced them for free, but its a pain in the ass doing the internal wires all the time,my second set has just started to rust after 12 mths
great bars, not sure about the chrome work

I hunted around looking for a set of T- Bars to replace the Mini Apes and even spoke with Luke at G Works but he wasn't able to help me out.

I saw a set of 1 1/2" T-Bars with 8" Rise on eBay for $180 which looked pretty decent, I grabbed a photo of the bars and a photo of my bike and worked out the angles and a rough idea of how it would go on the bike as I needed the same amount of pullback (Bad Back) as the Mini Apes and I just threw them on without worrying about the wiring (I'll get back to the hiding the wiring when I take the Tank off). After putting the T-Bars on I still had the same amount of pull back but had dropped the height of the bars and for me the new Bars worked out well.

The quality of the Bars were actually pretty good with good welds especially where the 1" pipe joins the 1 1/2" pipe and I happend to be in a Bike shop the other week and they had cheap T-Bars going for $250 and my $180 T-Bars were miles better quality.

I'm 5'7" and still using the factory seat and have had no problems with riding but then again I can't go too far at the moment.
