Horrible Banging Noise

    Went for a ride...not a bumpy road normal back road, after a while started to hear a horrible and loud bang, thump with almost every bump, thing is it doesn’t feel like the front end, more like under my foot pegs or just in front of them...actually pulled over and checked the bike all seemed normal...damn thin g was scary and I started to worry, so slowed down to well under limit... still did it but not as much....will take to dealer tomorrow, just thought if any brothers  had similar probs with street bob’s...don’t want to be told its all ok without me putting some questions to them... Bikle is an 08 Street Bob

    check your tank mount bolts

    Check both,

    I had an engine mount bolt come loose and a tank bolt. Sounds more like the mount if ya can feel it through the pegs.

    yeah ive seen the dyna tank come loose n it makes a real big bang that sounds like the motor has no mounts in, took a few speed humps n bigger bumps to find it, grab the tank at the front n try lift it, or ride the bike with pressure on the tank n see if it stops

    Thanks for the advise brothers...will have a check tomorrow...actually my bro will check, as i have no idea.

    checked fuel tank...front bolts needed tightening...seems to be ok now...thanks for the advise....

    had the same problem, sounded like the front end was falling out......
