Frame Alignment

G'day from Townsville all. Just got firefox on my Mac so hopefully now when I write this something will appear at your end! I bought a ridestr8 and fitted it to my '01 roadking and noticed in the fitting destructions that the frame alignment should be checked as per the service manual. Sure enough there is a section on doing this. Over the years of reading about baggers I've never heard of this being done. Has anyone ever done this process? I would have thought unless you have a big off it shouldn't get out of wack. I eye lined the wheels and it looked OK. I also fitted their axle strengtheners for pre '02 bikes. Looks a much stronger setup than standard.

Is my bike likely to need alignment though. Surely the factory would set them to some standard and if it hasn't been bent it should still be straight. The only other thing would be if the rubber mounts are worn out in which case there is no point aligning without replacing the mounts also. Swingarm pivots could also wear out I would imagine. My bike has only done 30k so I would hope these things shouldn't be worn out yet.

Ta. My front motormount was replaced last service. Which I think gave more vibration at idle. I went for a decent ride today and thought the ridestr8 has reduced the weaves. Hit a bump mid-corner and it pulls itself straight very quick.
