Streetbob.... the task force actually visited Frasers, told them what was and was not legal.... there is now a sign by the V&H pipes stating not street legal as do not comply with ADR. Am told all this has come about in part because they (DPI) have invested in suitable equipment to check emission/noise levels, something they did not have in the past

Blody hell, it sounds like the WA cops are going ape shit on Harley riders, I bet they haven't been visiting any Yamaha dealers either. Down here in SA the traffic cops are pretty mellow for the time being. I hope it stays that way.

Jeez I luv livin in the Territory .......... the cops really don't hassle you unless you do something wrong right in front of them..... and even then they'll think wether its worth the paperwork

Believe me, they won't go out their way if they don't have to. And this is a good thing. I believe it's called common sense.

After 7 pm only a dozen cops on duty for the whole of the Territory

Streetbob, I took my bike over the pits 2 weeks ago to get a Perth rego. The bike was stock so i had no probs. I would reckon you should be ok if you stick the standard pipes back on.
But my tip is that you can book an appointment to get you bike inspected and not have to wait all day. There are only 2 centres that take bookings, Warwick and Kelmscott. Not sure of the phone number, but it is on the Perth license web page somewhere. Hope that helps.
Bad news about the police crackdown.....I've got my bike booked in for its new pipes next fortnight.

Mate they are not stopping the Clubbies they are picking the easy targets if they stop you with the line, "sorry just doing a job but would would prefer to be eating donuts", don't say a word because they are probably recording, go and check and I mean check your rights because 70% of the time they cock it up. thats why they carry notes from their mum.

Well I know whats right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin me around
But Ill stand my ground and I wont back down

It is that time of year folks, i've seen plenty of cops out and about since boxing day. Cops on bikes pulling guys over for filtering at lights etc. Saw one young fella on a two fiddy with an L plate follow the cop filtering on his bike, yep you guessed it... Busted. Theres a cop at Beaufort Vic who will pinch you for farting to loud while on the dunny.
My only experience lately was pulled at a booze bus, 12 cars in front of me. When it was my turn to ride upto head copper, he looked at me and told me to Fuck off.... Cool. I did.

It isn't only harley with noisy pipes being hit, jap bikes with after market exhaust are getting done too, there is a few horror stories on the NSW Motorcycle concil web site about the crack down with bikes being hit at RBT, doing nothing wrong, just getting stopped, I got done this way just after Xmas

One old fellow I work with, who has a old triumph with club plates got knocked back for rego this year because his exhaust didn't comply to the rule

It must have the manufactures name and the Db rating stamped on the exhaust or has to have an engineering report and a sticker attached to the frame with the required info

I think this is nothing more than a method of extracting cash from the people,  for the state governments

And the bad news is that they are planning to hit ape hangers next.
