Streetbob.... the task force actually visited Frasers, told them what was and was not legal.... there is now a sign by the V&H pipes stating not street legal as do not comply with ADR. Am told all this has come about in part because they (DPI) have invested in suitable equipment to check emission/noise levels, something they did not have in the past
mate well said ... hopefully it all slows down over winter ....
Jeez I luv livin in the Territory .......... the cops really don't hassle you unless you do something wrong right in front of them..... and even then they'll think wether its worth the paperwork
Believe me, they won't go out their way if they don't have to. And this is a good thing. I believe it's called common sense.
After 7 pm only a dozen cops on duty for the whole of the Territory
I think we can just like the ilegal gun buy back tick they pulled ! Worth a big effort try !
It isn't only harley with noisy pipes being hit, jap bikes with after market exhaust are getting done too, there is a few horror stories on the NSW Motorcycle concil web site about the crack down with bikes being hit at RBT, doing nothing wrong, just getting stopped, I got done this way just after Xmas
One old fellow I work with, who has a old triumph with club plates got knocked back for rego this year because his exhaust didn't comply to the rule
It must have the manufactures name and the Db rating stamped on the exhaust or has to have an engineering report and a sticker attached to the frame with the required info
I think this is nothing more than a method of extracting cash from the people, for the state governments
And the bad news is that they are planning to hit ape hangers next.
