I passed some soft wind for 10 seconds once.
I have the same pipes on my bike, lost a lot of power when i put them on.changing them should help a lot.
What's your 60ft time?. . .how quick are you getting her moving to there?. I've done a 10.18 at Willowbank on my old ZX6R but your riding the tank off the line and those jap things love a belting into the top end
Sorry asking Burjo
The fastest D streetbike((upto 640cc) pass is 10.455 seconds so you want to get yourself to a national meeting Russ.
cheers Surly
Go with a 35 HP Edelbrock nitrous kit, they are a good quality item and you can jet it down to where you want to be.
Hook that all up, using a Edelbrock Nitrous Controller, which will allow you to bring in a % of gas and use a time delay or ramp to bring in the balance...
IE, 35 HP kit set at 20% of gas, to come on 2 Seconds into the run and the rest to come on over a 4 second time ramp.
That would see you leave the line in aspirated form and at approx the 60 foot markers, you'll have a additional 7 HP come on and over the next 4 seconds, the remaining 80% will come on as well.
This sort of set-up can be turned to come on sooner, later, not at all or whatever you want.
You could always set up a drag night.... No, not in dresses and shit, although its good fun just the same. Opps, did i just type that out aloud.
Test and tune, pay ya fee (about $30 i think) and run ya bike as many times as you like or until you blow it up or they shut the track for the night.
Street meet, Pay ya fee (about $30 i think), get 3 qualifiers, then run ya bike through eliminations until ya get flogged like a redheaded stepchild.
Just a thought.
Not gassed it yet.... haven't run it yet either....
After sorting out the clutch, we gave it a bit of a hard time. Then we resorted out the clutch, and it seemed to be bullet proof, smoking the rear tyre at will.
Paul, from Suncoast Custom cycles, says great, now ride it like you stole it, so i did and 5 weeks ago, we stripped 27 teeth off the drive belt, so after putting a Bad Mother Fucker belt on it, i'm starting to wonder if i should, but i will.
Time is hard for us at the moment, with our business, the wife's mum isn't real good, etc, but i'm hoping to hit the strip, so to speak, some time early in the new year and give it a run or 4 aspirated first, see what it does, then gas it from there. All the solinoids, nitrous controller etc are all there ready for a quick bolt on. (about 3 hours work)
Then lift the shift light RPM and cut loose. The fastest i've ever gone on a bike was 12.20 @113.9 on the ol girls a few years ago.
I really need to start practising my launches at the traffic lights, but i'm on just 2 points now until March 2010.
You can see my problem.
If it breaks again...
When it breaks again, i'll think about going chain i think.
It was pretty good fun until it stripped too....
When the shop got it, they asked if i was doing a static burnout?
I said, No, why?
They said, look up under the guard...
The amount of rubber up there was huge....
Yeh look after them points Ive been without mine for nearly 9 months FarKKKKKKKKK! its Killing Me!!
But good news is i get it back in 22 days Ya Hoo!! look forward in doin some klms
Cheers Fatcat
To paraphrase JFK:
We choose to drag race a harley and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.
One of modern historys most famous speechs and something that Rann's help would only dream about writing. By the sound of it german speech writers of the 40's would be more his style.
I have raced a Hayabusa into the tens, own a hot rod than runs 12 flat and crew on an altered that holds a national record at 6.0.
It doesn't matter what you race, there will always be something faster. That doesn't mean making what you own faster isn't fun. It is also great fun blowing off supposedly faster machines on an unlikely choice.
Why bother racing a bloated gutless machine like an Aprilia when a top fuel bike will waste you?
