I know there's some die hard Harley people out there, and I think they just don't like sharing the glory. I own a few bikes and have recently just bought the Victory Cory Ness model. Now I love Harleys, but in all honesty the life of the engine is a lot more reliable and is going to be cheaper to maintain than a Harley. I'm a big fan of big bikes, but trying to compare the two, is very hard. The victory is very high tech and very well designed, and if you get annoyed with the jap bikers, you can easily catchem and out run em if you want.

This may piss some Harley owners off, but why spend an extra 10 - 20k trying to make it faster, if you want a fast bike buy a sports bike. A Harley is for cruising. I know of quite a few people spending the dollars on superchargers and Dyno'ing all the time, and it's just a complete waste of money...I recently witnessed a 40k engine go up against a stock yamaha R1...and the R1 flog the shit out of it big time. Harley will always be Harley, and Victory is it's own bike.

Don't bag it until you've ridin' one.

Well after owning a rocket for a few months , I think they will has the years go on make Harley look twice , in the bagger dept , there facking awsome the way they handle and the power they have. but with saying that if its around town too big too heavy and its the street bob all the way ,horses for courses but I think Harley are finally starting to get some competition , reprts i've read on the new triumph thunderbird , are all glowing . Competition never hurt anyone.

I sat on the new 1600 Thunderbird and it didn't feel real good, but will wait until I can ride one before deciding, someone told me the thunderbird at the bike show had an empty engine it did feel pretty light on.
It will have to be a fucking great bike to be better than a streetbob or superglide.
    Each to his own.
I don't agree with ya about Hog owners buying a new bike every year MJ.
Well, maybe the rich ones do, but I have a Hog mate with a bagger and its on its third time round the clock and he won't sell it or trade it.
I mean if ya can afford to keep ya bike current, what the fucks wrong with that? as long as ya ride the thing its all good.
I wouldn't mind having a blast on a Victory, doesn't mean I would buy one, but they are nearly interesting.
No challenge to the Motor Co though.

Well said Scotty, if you guys are really happy with your VICTORY (sorry about the pun) then why bother comparing it to a Harley ? Just enjoy your decision. If Victory motorcycles are still around in 200 years then they will have proven themselves in every way, but until then it doesn't matter if they go faster, handle better or brake harder, they are all just copies "in one way or another" of what Harley has spent 200 years creating and developing. If I wanna go faster I'll jump on the sports bike which will go faster, handle better and brake harder than any Victory ever will for half the price. It was in the 80's when I first saw the Harley I wanted to own and 20 something years later i bought it. Since then lots of bikes have come and gone that were supposed to rival Harley but Harley is still plodding along. You can't buy tradition, you either get it or you don't.

Harleys are where its at. People who dreamed about riding as kids dreamed about harleys, To some its a huge goal in there life just to say they own one. There will always be copies that try to steal the light. But wont ever happen not in my shed anyway.

Its just another bike made in the USA like the Honda Goldwing, and I think fuck all of them either lol.

Basically similar to the same reason I wouldnt buy a big fat ass chopper, COS IT AINT A HARLEY! you can pretend but it aint.
