    hi guys,

I am wondering what are the differences between the US bikes and those we get down here ( beside active exhaust and lack of ABS ) ?

    cheers

I know for my model bike (06') there were no oxygen sensors fitted in the exhaust on the International bikes. There was no active exhaust at that stage, this was part of the ecu closed loop processing on the Us bikes. This means the ecu would have also been modified to have the o2 input disabled on international models.

Also, the FXDCI came with chrome dish rims as standard on international models. That was an option in the US, they came with steel stepped rims standard. I'm guessing there must be a lot of litlle idfferences like that through all the ranges.

There are lots of cosmetic differences with each model between markets. The key markets in terms of build standards are:

    USA (Except California)

    USA (California)

    Canada

    Europe

I believe that we get the Europe version but modified for ADR.. I will have a further look tonight when I get home. I know that the Califonia unit has catalitic converter

Californian models have stricter emission laws and have to have a charcoal canister fitted to catch any spilt fuel if the bike falls over or is crashed.

The "export or international" bikes have a different size rear pulley ( I can't remember wether it is smaller or larger )

    KLM speedo instead of MPH.

The yank bikes have larger seats for their lard arses.
