Just wondering what the average service cost is around the country. I have been quoted about $430.00 for the first service on my 09 fxst. Just wanted to check if that was about right or not.  Thought I would get it done through the dealer first time round and then start doing them myself.

    Thanx, Mick.

Yep,...paid $283.20 (first service), on 14/02/08 at Harley Heaven but since they have a new workshop to pay for and now charge the apprentice rates at $110/hr...well they looked like kids working on it.....probably got it cheap though as the 8000 one was $312.20 on 01/07/08...................do my own now for around $100..

    Hi,

my softail is due its first service and I was thinking that while its there, I might get a proper dyno tune to try n get everything working perfectly. Where should I go to get this done?  where I can trust and not get charged threw the roof in Melbourne ?

    Thanks ??

A local independent just quoted me $250 for my 8000km service, a fair bit less than the dealer wanted so I've booked it in.

It's not big or flash like a dealer would be (but we don't have to pay for marble dealer sales floors with this guy) and he knows what he's doing (he's HD trained and certified but went out on his own).

It's in Eaglehawk, a suburb of Bendigo.

    *reminds me*

I've got to book the bike in for it's 16,000 km service.

I just booked my 2016 FXDWG in for its first service (1800km) The dealer quoted $99?? Dunno what they will do for that price? Probably roll it in and out of the shed? Dunno why all you blokes are paying $300-$400?? See what happens next Tuesday.

Had the first service done today. All oils and filter changed, usual checks / inspcetions and bike washed. $96.24 (no labour charged). Must have been part of the deal when buying a new bike. Stoked. However the next service is $420. Think I'll shop around for tha one.
