This book is about a cops undercover journey to the dark heart of the Hells Angels in America.

I've nearly finished reading this book. I have found it to be interesting and informative. I think Mike Rann must have read it at some stage to get his information on the bikie movement. It's a bit of a one sided story, ie being from an UC cop. I have read similar books from the other perspective eg Hell's Angels, by Ralph "Sonny" Barger with Keith and Kent Zimmerman. ( must read that again, as I see I bought it in 2000)

Any one else read this book.?  I tried to look back a lot of pages of postings and haven't seen it mentioned before. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    TC

I have read it, found it to be interesting ...was very surprised that the law didnt go all the way given that they had members supposedly about to be patched and the fact that what they did have against them was so small.

Also I am surprised that they used meth heads to get themselves in .. who says they wouldnt give the cops up ....

the book has been written to sell copies ..must be interesting or people wouldnt buy ..but the total truth may not be all there ..Sonny Barger has his own agenda of course, just like the cops

actually found "dead man running" to be more interesting ...

At my local book shop in a small country city. Should be available in most good book shops. They tend to have all these sort of crime/murder etc type books in the one section. I agree, Rk07 I was also  surprised at the amount of trust they had in the meth head. He could have sold them out at any time.

The guy that the book "dead man running" is about I actually met ...at the time I just thought he was another stupid soldier, given the incident lol ..little did I realise there was a lot more to him ..

it wasnt until I was reading the book and came across an incident described in it did I realise I had actually met and talked with him .. sort of blew me away actually ..what a small world it really is

I've read all of these (except No Angel) and a few more - the one I liked the best was Riding on the Edge - a motorcycle outlaws tale (I think was its title).
Second would be "Under and Alone." There's usually something interesting in all of them, but I hate to read a book where they seem to be padding the pages with other people's history or deeds - which they all do to some extent.
