    Hi all -

    I am a newbie.

I have a harley fat boy thats been customised that I brought in the USA whilst I was working there.

I am looking to come back to live in NSW - how do I import it back with me and get it registerable ?

Is there a company that can do this for me someone can recommend ?

I always thought it worked out costing too much to import a US bike and get it on the road, but I don't know for sure. I came across this link (for importing) in my travels:
    http://www.geezers.com.au/import.php

I'm sure they'd have more info for you.

Mate, as far as i know you have to had lived and owned the bike for at least a year to be allowed to import to Aus...and then its has to meet Aus standards to reg...call the federal department of Infrastructure and Transport, i think and they will help, you hope...also if its 1989 and older it seems to be no probs...maybe call nsw RTA....i tried this about 4 years ago, so info may be out of date...hope this helped..

    cheers

I just imported mine from the US.
It was shipped with my house hold goods using Allied.

Yes you have to have owned it for atleast 12 months. And proof of this is a must. Rego and Ins papers help.

All I had to change was back to factory pipes and headlight. (among other illegal stuff)

You will also need a import broker for the paperwork. All the fluids must be draind before shipping.
