Supposed to be the best handling bike in the range. Was the first Harley I ever rode but I was too spun out to notice the finer points.

Go for it...!!!!!!! I owned a 91 FXR for 17 years and it was a great bike. Light, nimble, lots of fun in traffic or the windy road. Would be a perfect way for you to step up a level from the sportster and move onto a big twin.

Couldn't recommend one high enough to you.

    Gday 3737pisces,

I have had my 91FXR for almost 6 years now and love it. As everyone here has said it handles fantastic and Kiwidave is right lots of people comment on the bike.
The only problem I have had with the bike was electrical, there is something wrong with the indicators, they will not work through the self cancelling module, i have modified it now and you just hold the button on like some older models.
The only downside in my opinion is parts are starting to get hard to find. I am not saying you cant get parts at all but every time I buy parts they always have to be ordered in this takes 1 to 2 weeks and there is not as much choice in aftermarket custom parts available.

Having said all that its a fantastic bike to ride and I will never sell it, i thought about selling a little while ago and buying a Road King but after test riding the King I decided to stick with the FXR.

    Cheers.
