I was getting ready to ride to work on wednesday, Like every other day i roll her out of the Garage and onto the path of the house, I have a very steep driveway. Anyway instead of going on the path i thought i would take it down to the road, I Didn't go back far enough and did a quick turn right as been a heavy bike it dropped Landing on the right side engine gaurd and the rear pannier gaurd, I also had my right leg caught up in this, I tried everything to get this up and at the same time i had the front brake on cos it was ready to slide down the driveway, I reached over with my left had and grabbed my mobil phone , Called the wife to give a chop out , She came running out to give me a had but still we could'nt lift it. I told her that she was to hold the front brake and what ever you dont let it go, I got my left leg over and with all my might lifted this bike up, As i was lifting it @ 5:30 am i let out this mighty roar and lifted it to the left side wife and all so now i have both sides of the engine gaurd and rear gaurds scatched, No damage to the bike thank god, My father inlaw had some kind of metal sand paper and got most of the scatches out 4 me........... So today im going shopping for some BLING
Hey Finny yer not the lone ranger on this one happened to me
except i was on level ground ....bugger the stand didn't lock in
very embarrassing never again i hope......
Shame hey try doing it infront of a crowded cafe, and you have to get one of your mate to help lift it up.
Been there, done that.
Yep happened to me too found some strength I didn't know I had......
Welcome to the club mate
Bt
yeah been there done that...it sucks but as long as no one was hurt....
It was a frosty morning many moons ago........... I rolled the old girl out of the shed and onto the icy grass of somewhere near Sheffield Tasmania. Being a fine young buck I kicked her into life and sat down clunking into first and releasing the clutch with vigour.
The back wheel went sideways and the bike and I hit the ground with a thud! Fuck me not even a hangover was to blame.
Somehow the bike found neutral and was running and we are made a beautiful loud sandwich. I was the meat...... 82 Sturgis / Me/ Frosty Ground
Baz my Triumph riding mate came out the font door and proceeded to take photos of my difficult situation. He then helped me get back level and away........
The fucker still has the pictures and my big tuff Harley rding image has been shown to many over the years..........
and it is my favourite memory................................
I once crashed my softail on the road I was so worried someone would see me I picked the bike up so quickly It didn't feel like it weighted anymore than 10 kg's, funny how adrenalan and the thought of embarrassment gives someone super human strength, then came the repair bills...................
Anyway many years on it's now a funny story and a lesson well learnt
Im Just Glad Im Not Alone.........
LOL so come on, share!
