I was getting ready to ride to work on wednesday, Like every other day i roll her out of the Garage and onto the path of the house, I have a very steep driveway. Anyway instead of going on the path i thought i would take it down to the road, I Didn't go back far enough and did a quick turn right as been a heavy bike it dropped Landing on the right side engine gaurd and the rear pannier gaurd, I also had my right leg caught up in this, I tried everything to get this up and at the same time i had the front brake on cos it was ready to slide down the driveway, I reached over with my left had and grabbed my mobil phone , Called the wife to give a chop out , She came running out to give me a had but still we could'nt lift it. I told her that she was to hold the front brake and what ever you dont let it go, I got my left leg over and with all my might lifted this bike up, As i was lifting it @ 5:30 am i let out this mighty roar and lifted it to the left side wife and all so now i have both sides of the engine gaurd and rear gaurds scatched, No damage to the bike thank god, My father inlaw had some kind of metal sand paper and got most of the scatches out 4 me...........  So today im going shopping for some BLING

Shame hey try doing it infront of a crowded cafe, and you have to get one of your mate to help lift it up.

It was a frosty morning many moons ago........... I rolled the old girl out of the shed and onto the icy grass of somewhere near Sheffield Tasmania.  Being a fine young buck I kicked her into life and sat down clunking into first and releasing the clutch with vigour.

The back wheel went sideways and the bike and I hit the ground with a thud!  Fuck me not even a hangover was to blame.

Somehow the bike found neutral  and was running and we are made a beautiful  loud sandwich.  I was the meat...... 82 Sturgis / Me/ Frosty Ground

Baz my Triumph riding mate came out the font door and proceeded to take photos of my difficult situation.  He then helped me get back level and away........

The fucker still has the pictures and my big tuff Harley rding image has been shown to many over the years..........

and it is my favourite memory................................

I once crashed my softail on the road  I was so worried someone would see me I picked the bike up so quickly It didn't feel like it weighted anymore than 10 kg's, funny how adrenalan and the thought of embarrassment gives someone super human strength, then came the repair bills...................

Anyway many years on it's now a funny story and a lesson well learnt

The gravel ate the front of our Roadking once..
As I laid on the side of the road..my ever caring partner...asked if I was ok..I grunted a response..to which he said well get up and lift the bike..
Yeah..sure..half a ton in "dead" wait..not happening real fast..
    Friends to the rescue..
Funny how he hadn't dropped a bike in years..guess he can't say that for a few years to come!!

    Know what you mean Finny,
Changed from floorboards to 2" over forward controls on the Heritage. Finished at 1.30pm, gotta be at work at 2.00pm.
Looks good I thought, as I rode up my very steep driveway. Had to stop at the top as there's trees to the right and no clear view, front wheel pointed to the left and that's when the greek god CLEARANCE raised it's ugly head. Front fender hooked onto the master cylinder and locked the bars up. This was closely followed by yours truly and his bike doing a graceful yet uncontrolled fall to the right (with a half twist) in front of half a dozen neighbours. No damage to the bike, a bit of gravel rash to the right elbow and a total loss of cool.
Bugger!!!!, ran to the garage and got the trusty hacksaw and took 2 inches off the front guard ( a mate suggested later " what about 2" over forks?). See what happens when you're in a hurry?. Always wanted to modify the front fender anyway.
    Cheers ,
    The Don

I joined that club many years ago as a young buck fighting with the missus she was yelling dont you piss off on that bike again, so i droped the clutch lit up the back wheel and proceded to give her the finger. then it all turned to shit. the back wheel griped and caused the front wheel to lift off the ground stupid me didnt let go of the front brake and when it touched back down slid straight out from under me i bit the dust the bike was fine my knee and elbow wasnt and the worst was she laughed and slamed the door and said lift it up yourself arsehole. Big lessen learned that day i tell you
