I'd tell them to bugger off, Sporty's are great, I loved mine. Now I've got the Street Bob and that's great too but is it that much better than the Sporty the answer is no, it's a different bike, it has it's good points too but different to the Sporty. The riding experience on a Sporty is un-like any of the bigger bikes, ie light and zippy.

Convert the 883 to a 1200 and you won't look back.

3737 ,did u put the n3 cams in ?did you notice much difference to the std cams??

Yea tell em to sod off, and get 1 of each but stir em both up with kits, me old fatty pulls great and is very snappy up to 200 but yer face is falling off an then during the week get on yer sporty pubhopper they are so much fun nicn an lite scrape way late, u can shave wit my running boards on the fatty gets a bit tiresum at roundabouts. Rats

Get the 1200 kit and you won't see ya softail mate on rides until ya stop, he will be eating your dust big time.

hi 3737,just recovering from a knee op..but have finished a 1200 conversion,hi-comp etc andafter soughting a few minor things out its at the dyno tuners for its final tune i pick it up wednesday !! i'll post some hp /tq figures when i get it back ..this is stg 2 of my motor build ,later this year i want to go to 1250barrels and i have s/e 536 cams to go in to..and just looking into a custom front end set up(hopefully some thing no-one else has done yet!!)..cheers

3737, no vibration to worry about..i helped a mate fit the 1250 kit s/e heads and 42 mikuni carb to a 2005 sporty custom and it went real good i think the mikuni's really help with some power increase!!an 883 to 1200 is worth about 15-20hp ..a 1200-1250 is worth about 3-4hp(all approx)as for mine i've only just run it in definately more torque but i was running out of fuel thru the injectors so i'll give it a good run when i pick it up the dyno guy said they've got heaps more out of it so i'm keen to get it back!!!!
