Just wanting some advice on what air pressure to run in the standard rear shocks on my new 09 road  king classic. Should I go with the recommended pressures in the manual or what, do a mixture of solo and two up riding. Any  advice welcome.

have an 07 ultra, sacked the air shocks, got sick of always checking air. Bought a pair of ikons and am very impressed. No wallowing in corners. When I go over bumpy surface it doesn't ride like a tinny bobbing in the water! Mostly 2 up me 120kg the 'significant' other 80kg. She claims the difference is very noticable, not constantly moving bum around after hitting a bump!

Fozz I have the 08 RKC and when I bought it it had Zero pressure, that's what they are set at from the factory apparantly. I bought the Harley pump, which is a low volume pump. I ride mainly 2 up and have mine set at 25psi as worked out from the manual, eg weight and load. I don't worry about dropping pressure when I'm solo. If I'm going on a big ride 2 up I check it before I leave. I think the later models have different pressures from the earlier models, different shocky sizes I take it.

I was a bit sick of losing pressure all the time, the sagging under brakes, the very ordinary ride so did a Phugly and put a set of real shocks on. Ones with good springs and controlable damping. Works for me now. Oh the front dampers were fixed as well.
    Just loves Mac pass.

    From the workshop manual

Do not exceed recommended air pressure, air components will fail rapidly.

    FLHR/C, FLHT/C/U & FLTR  - max pressure 35psi

    FLHX - max pressure 50psi

Yep, point taken. This is for 2008 model.
