"Detectives from the State Crime Command sex crimes squad have been made aware of the relocation of a 61-year-old man from Queensland to NSW," the spokesman said in a statement on Thursday.

Ferguson was jailed for 14 years in 1988 for kidnapping three children and sexually molesting them in a Brisbane motel.
