Anything wrong with the HD Chrome polish apart from price. I just used it on the spokes on my Heritage, they came up a treat, but took ages to do

I found autosol metal polish worked well on my pipes, i had a section that went a gold color when a baffle fell out and it polished it out, u can still tell slightly where it was but some other polishes i tried didnt change it at all

I've had my 2001 Dyna for about 2 months and I've been using Mr Sheen. It keeps my bike looking good and waterproofed.

I aqlso have a bottle of Autosol and it's excellent for tarnished surfaces - there aren't any on my machine - but it's abrasive and I wouldn't use it on chrome that's in good nick.

I started off with Mr Sheen, then went to Bright Shine, and now have just bought "Meguiars Hot Rims Chrome Polish"...and it's fantastic. It goes on like a car polish and then you buff it off. Looks good, wont go back to the other stuff. It is a bit expensive but worth it.

I use Autosol on the wheels when they are dirty or havent been done for a while. It is more abrasive.

Wicked (also used by truckies for the fuel tanks and wheels) is the best polish I have used yet. It's watery, not a paste, and comes off as easy as it goes on. Turtle wax for the paint.

Yeah forgot to mention, bourbon and music while all of this happens.

The most abrasive to the finest in the following order
Depends what you want to get off
    Mothers - Autosol - Purple -
And always finish with white metal magic (WAX)
Polish alone will not protect shit---
    POLISH CLEANS AND SHINES..WAX PROTECTS.

I just polished all the jewellery on my customline. It took 2 days and I used Purple. Did a great job.

I use both Purple, I think it is brilliant on chrome............... and Meguires All Metal Polysh...... best thing I have ever used on stainless..... I've posted these comments elsewhere before, but after a week long trip along the Great Ocean Road and through Lakes Entrance before heading home to North East Vic, our two Dynas had a fair bit of pitting in the triple trees from the sea air.... my trees now look like they're chrome....... a lot of elbow grease, but the finish is great............. also leaves a 'wet' look polish on the rims...

Thought I'd bring up an old thread seeing as I got a bike with chrome on it now.

Bought some Autosol metal polish and gave the chrome bits a polish yesterday arvo but it doesn't quite have the shine like I've seen on other chrome. Is a liquid polish better than the paste and does hand polishing suffice in lieu of using a machine operated buff?

Hi Mick , mate I have been using "Purple" polish on chrome and alloy for the past 3 years and find it without a doubt THE BEST out there ( I,ve tried them all ) , It will bring up your alloy (once you,ve cleaned it up with light grade wet & dry first) that close to chrome you,ll be amazed , you can buy it from Auto shops for about $25.00 , it,s a very smooth liquid and will last you for ages ,I,ve detailed bikes for friends and they have always been rapped with the finish , brilliant on chrome also and wont hurt your paint work . Hope this helps mate. Aussie

Nothing beats Purple it's the best and the big plus it's so easy to apply and polish the chrome work and you only need a small amount to do a great job.

I use Brite Shine , in a yellow can . It is cotton wad impregnated with polish . Finish off with a soft dry cloth , works very well for me .

I have used all three depending on the job, on other bikes. But Autosol, Briteshine and Purple all have their place in my shed. On the ultra, I have only polished it once ( paint only) and haven't had to use the purple yet. This is what i will use on Tigger when he needs it.
