Bikies kick off protest with poem

REBELS bikies have begun a "freedom ride" through Adelaide suburbs - after the gang's national president addressed the media with a poem.

Members have rallied from around the country for a protest against the state's anti-bikie legislation.

But, before they set off, Alex Vella recited a poem to the media gathered at the club's southern headquarters at Old Noarlunga.

This is the freedom ride
We will not go and hide
We have just come over here
To keep the public occupied
We are going to ride
Around the Adelaide Hills
We are hardworking people
Who pay the bills

He then denied bikie gangs were havens for criminals.

Police are monitoring the convoy but have not pulled over any bikies, The Advertiser reports.

looks like a club protest, was there many non members bikes on the run,
the shots of the suits on the steps, how dangerous is the lady in the light blue blouse, if that button goes, it will put an eye out, clear case of endangering the public if ever i've seen one.

Good turn out, even got a response on a Current  Affair and yes,some  blonds do have nice hooters, I did have  another look........

Excellent coverage of a clever political move. I was stuck at work today and didn't hear any radio coverage, and was home too late to see the news items. But AdelaideNow had a couple of movie clips of the event. Oh yeah my brother in law took a crappy picture with his mobile and sent it to me around lunch time. So these pictures are greatly appreciated thanks Crimson.
