Hi, My name is Colin. I am a pastor from Australia. I am 54 years old. After talking about it for years and visiting the Sydney Motorcycle Show in November last year, I decided to 'bite the bullet' and get my bike license. So, I managed to convince my wife to come along with me to the Learner Riders Classes and we both got our 'L's'. Bought our first bike in January (Yamaha XV250 Virago) which was learner legal and destined to become my wife's. In February I made a commitment to get my full license, so attended the one day course and passed the test. In early March I asked my brother about his Harley, which I understood he wasn't riding since having knee problems. He told me that he'd just decided to sell it and was putting it on the market that week. Asked me if I wanted it and offered a deal I couldn't refuse, because having a Harley was always a part of the dream. So, to cut a long story short, I rode it back from Port Macquarie to home, a three hour ride with 110km speed zones which gave me the opportunity to really check it out. It's an '85 FXRC Superglide. The 'C' stands for Custom...only 1500 of these originally made apparently. No one seems to believe me when I tell them that, cause they've never heard of it. It was actually known as a Rubberglide, but to save the hassle I just go along with it. I know the parts are mostly the same anyway. Love the bike, though I've had some problems getting it back to roadworthy. The charging system wasn't working. The rear brake disc was dished and jamming and have just found that the spokes on the rear wheel are loose, which explains the strange wobble when I round corners. Still love it though! If there's anyone out there with a 16" Harley rear wheel to fit a tyre size 130/90 16 73H or similar, I'd be interested in hearing from you. That's my bike story for now at least. All the very best!!!
G'day Colin and welcome to the forum ..........cheers Jake
