$20 Helmet locks

I was looking for a pair of helmet locks to put on my bike. I wanted them keyed alike so I only had 1 key for them and not 2. Tried a couple of bike shops and they never had what I wanted and any they had were nearly $50 each. So I had a thought to use sliding window locks instead and mount them on my sissy bar at the lugage rack bolts. It worked and the whole thing cost me $40 for 2 keyed alike locks and bolts to fix them in position.

This is the front on view.

    This is the rear view.

This is the view underneath. You can see the pin that holds the buckle.

Thought I would share this with you all.

    Cheers Phillthy.

Lol...seems like a good idea, not sure about the look, but what the hell do I know :) I usually carry my helmet in case someone needs it slammed into their crotch.

    Nifty little setup.

I'm 50:50 on helmet locks. I don't think anyone can be bothered nicking someone's smelly helmet unless its cos you pissed them off...

I had one on my 250cc jap cruiser and they were good to leave it behind and secured (unless someone cuts the strap!) but there were times you'd come back with some wet interior from the rain, even if you had the shell 'up'. And I had a great fear that some punter might always find great delight in pissing in it... Maybe cos I think up that sort of crap myself...

At worst, a small but sturdy padlock through the front wheel disc ala Shoveltrouble is a similar method!

That's a great idea, paid about $45.00 for a harley one a few months ago and placing the lock is limited too
