G'day KC, just wondering if you can let me know if you guys have something on the forum site that stops people accessing it to offload spyware onto the user??

The reason I ask is that I have narrowed the problem down to two forum sites (which includes this one) and end up with all kinds of drama (flickering screens etc) as I'm copping spyware. Thankfully the scanner I use gets rid of it but it just keeps cropping up.

If I was bouncing around porn sites I'd understand where it was coming from, but it's down to this site and a Bali forum site.

    Cheers.

Cheers KC, the other site is supposedly clean too so I dunno what the heck is going on.

Scorp.........I don't think it's anything magnetic mate, but it may be some interference from that place where things seem to disappear........what's it called again????...........oh yeah, the Pubic Triangle

boofhead....I did have Windows Defender running but something has gone askew on my system and it no longer works and I can't download windows updates.........it says I need to do such & such to allow the Active X controls etc to work but when I do what it says it keeps saying I have to make the changes so F'd if I know! I'm no 'puter whiz and honestly can't be arsed paying the $60 bucks to have some fat-arsed, pimply, 24hr role-playing plonker to flick a few keys to sort it out.........but I'm close to breaking down and doing it I can tell you. I confess I hate taking it in to the geeks, when something goes wrong they look at me like I'm a moron when I say "stuffed if I know what's wrong with it" or if I say "I think the bloody power source has shit itself again" they tend to keep it for a couple of days for an easy fix. I don't know how many times I have to say to them "No, I haven't been on any porn sites" when I ring for help

These things apparently make our lives easier hey?

If you can find out exactly what it is that is being installed on your computer you we can look at clearing it for good and specifically denying permission for it to run again. Are you installing demo games or software you downloaded from the net ? That's where a lot of these things come from.

Boof: I'm one of those blokes that's pretty reluctant to download stuff without getting a good scan of the files happening first!!

I'm thinking some of the problem may be following links (e.g to youtube) and picking up stuff in those areas.

After a bit of time on the computer the other day I have managed to inadvertently get my windows defender & updates working again while rectifying an issue with my MSN chat (yes, this is chockers full with spyware also) using the help page. Everything is now working fine........go figure!

It seems that having everything running again has resolved the "flicker" (not to be confused with the bloody horse) and spyware problems...........fingers crossed anyway

    Thanks for the help guys!
