OK IVE READ OTHER THREADS ABOUT high flow FILTERS AND REMAPPING THE ECU ( FACTORY OR AFTERMARKET). ALSO LOOKED ON OTHER WEBSITES AND THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF CONFUSION ABOUT THE NEED TO REMAP OR ADD A FUELPAK ETC.  iVE ALREADY GOT SOME S&S PIPES ON THE 07 883C AND AND NOW LOOKING TOWARDS THE AIRFILTER.  DO I OR DONT I NEED TO GET THE ECU ADJ? AND HOW MUCH DOES THE ACTUAL SCREAMING EAGLE FILTER COST ?  IVE READ SOME SCARY POSTS ABOUT THE COST OF REMAPPING THE ECU.

    Dugga,

My experience was that when you have both pipes and high flow air filter you need a fuel manager.  When I first got my bike I initially got Screamin Eagle pipes, there was no need for a fuel manager but when I put the SE Air Filter on the bike didn't run good.  I took the air filter off until I could get a V&H fuelpak.  When I installed the air filter with the appropriate fuelpak settings the bike ran great.  So if you ask me you definately need a fuel manager if you go both high flow pipes and air filter.

I bought the Screamin Eagle direct from the US and I think the cost was around $200 AUD.

07 883 c slip on mufflers and air cleaner kit was no problem on mine and also my brothers without fu@$ing around with any of the fuel system.
Take my advice and dont use a fuel tuner, they dont modify the air fuel ratio they only add or decrease the amount of fuel going into your cylinders,
Just my 2 bobs worth, but hey if you want to throw $500 away go for it, cheers Bretho
