I've been toying with the idea of ditching my PC111 and going to Thundermax with self tune.

Can anyone tell me where the best place is to purchase a unit in WA or elsewhere and what dollars I'm up for?

M&M cycles in the US about $750 delivered when I got mine just before christmas.

I never had a PC111 so I cant compare, but I think the T/max is worth the dollars. A good article in Heavy Duty mag this month on the T/Max from PC change over.

Will look into getting it direct from US, to now i've been a little warry of getting stuff from overseas but after talking to Dazza and what is being said here there doesn't seem to be too many probs.

Big diff between 1450 local and 800 odd from US.

the main thing to do with the TMAX is to never start b4 ur light goes of , only time ive had head aces wen starting to quick

Hey darkash69, not to be picky, however it appears youahve had the dreaded t-Max (it's the user not the program) issue??

YEP HAD THE THUNDERMAX IN THE FXDB07 IT KRANKED AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT PLAYED UP.SENT IT BACK TWICE AND EVEN RELOADED IT MYSELF WITH HELP OVER THE PHONE THEN MORE TROUBLE LOST SPEEDO CALIBRATION,HAD TO PUT A SOFTAIL CODE IN TO GET IT RIGHT,RAN RICH,IDLED HIGH AND SO ON.THE END I DITCHED IT. Hey Marto ya might have noticed that this thread is over 2 years old, a lot has changed since then mate....The Tmax turned out to be a crock of expensive shit, for me anyway......Last year I changed to TTS and are very happy with it.......Gotta box of PC111 and Tmax bits collecting dust.

Hi BobTail, yes It is old. I was bringing the thread to darkash's attention as he had a gripe with me for having a wine over the TMax as i too have had a a very frustrating and expensive time with it. Mine is (was) on an 08 VRod. I felt I became the R&D section for the reseller and the vendor. Darkash took offence and told me I was full of shit, and that the error is"the suer and not the program" yet he had the same issues as per above. The thread is at:

I have gone back to the Screaming Eagle unit (SEPST with Smart Tune Software) and have it running beautifully now.
