...and I am surprised how small they feel when you are seated on one.

I was expecting something a lot roomier with a more substantial feel than it had.

You are definitely sitting up and on rather than spread along the bike like my softail.

    Is this normal/common?

It felt more like the size of a dyna than a softail as far as the seating position and room went.

Take a SG for a ride and I mean a good ride and you will discover that it will surprise you in the handling (they are great at cornering) and performance stakes.

More than happy to swap bikes on a run if you are interested.

I am 6'2" and find all bikes never have enough leg room (same as cars).

I had the same feeling when I bought the 09 roadking seemed a lot less room than my heritage, I think it's because you sit on top rather than down "in" as you do on a softail. Those feelings soon disapear once you go on a decent ride.

Graham will take you up on that if we are on a ride somewhere.

I am only 5'10" so just average height. I have a few seats for my softail and each one makes the bike feel very different so I can see how you could find a bit more room that way.

    Not converted yet but interested
