TELEPHONE interception laws will be a priority when parliament resumes next week in Queensland's stance against bikie gangs, Premier Anna Bligh says.

Business on the parliamentary agenda, including phone tapping laws, lapsed when the election was called for March 21.

Liberal National Party leader John-Paul Langbroek on Wednesday called on Ms Bligh to give the bill priority when parliament resumed on April 21, to deter bikie gangs from moving to Queensland from NSW, where tougher laws exist.

"The recent outbreak of violence involving bikie gangs has shone the spotlight on the need to strengthen our laws and give police the tools they need to do their job," he said.

But Ms Bligh said Mr Langbroek was behind the eight-ball and the Government had already announced such laws were a priority.

"I remind you that I announced that two-and-a-half weeks ago at the first press conference held after our first cabinet meeting as part of our response to outlaw bikie gangs," she told reporters.

"So I don't think this is any evidence that the opposition leader has his finger on the pulse."

Looks like this too is changing, I for one am genuinely interested in law and order, but these powers being invested can be easily abused and no doubt have been for years....this is taking new turns every week and rapidly becoming a power struggle to keep the big bad wolf from the door (who IS the big bad wolf??) and unfortunately the presumption of innocence is gone.
Some common sense from all is called for here,,,Violence is part of human nature and has NEVER solved a thing....and won't now!!...the end....
