The latest worm / virus doing the rounds of the net is being called CONFICKER , It is being spread by cliclking on to infected forums, facebook, and more important to us, video and photo  sharing web sites.

This worm is nasty, it overides anti virus software,blocks antivuris web sites, installs keyloggers and more important, it dails home to check for more instructions, and it is this function which is scaring the computer world as it is feared that this function is being set up for one big attack when the virus reaches critical mass

 

HOW TO TELL IF YOU HAVE IT

This virus blocks accsses to MICROSOFT and SYMANTEC web sites, If you can't access these web sites, you have it

If you can't get these sites, you are infected

No , it still is a major threat

 

It was on last nigh 60 minutes, they ran a story from CBN that it wasn't activated, they still waiting

Thanks mate, saw an article on TV this morning about that virus.

They think it originates from somewhere like Russia. Apparently as soon as thay make a counter program to block it, the instigators update there program again.

There really worried about attacks to big business. Microsoft has a world map of who are currently infected and they can't stop it from spreading.

I'm still OK.

Russin IT degrees run a subject on virus writting/removel. Every now and then one of them are smart and release something awsome. Your anti-virus is as good as your virus definitions and thay are as good as what is updated. Electronic vandals.
