Well the Tmax has been in for a bit over 12 months now. Things have certainly changed in the replacment ECM market, but I am still happy. Just done a service on the bike thisarvo, everything is lookin sweet. The bike is going well, the plugs are spot on, I lost some skin off the knuckles............

I havent even looked like having some of the troubles some others have had.

I too am extremely happy now with my TMax, had a few headaches early on with exhaust pops and poor fuel mileage, some caused by my inability to get my head around the computer side of it, and other problem may have been a "bug" in my software d/loads.
Anyway after Scotty tried to mod my map and still had troubles!(not Scottys fault I may add) I went back to basics and as per Zippers advice completely re downloaded all software and new updates etc. and reflashed the original #401 map, now after several tanks of fuel and going back through the "learning " process again, my fuel consumption has improved dramatically and it is running the best ever! with no hint of popping anymore.

    Hiya GREG,

My thundermax is working quite well too and is easy to use. It's been in the bike since July 08. I have been playing with some different maps recently and I'm continualy learning. The only real minor problem I've had is with my speedo and engine alarms etc shutting down whilst riding the bike....Gota stop and turn off ignition and restart, this apparently resets it, this is suppose to happen only once but to now it's happened 3 times. It doesnt seem to affect the bikes running though...

    GREG.....

The current map is 412, the closest I could find for my 203 cams, BUB slip on muffs and SE aircleaner.....Only put it in last weekend.....I had the 401 map in before but had trouble getting top speed out of it, got to 185 with little left in 6th gear, probably get a bit more speed in 5th....Found to have imbalance with fuel burn in front and rear cylinders, we think the learn had maxed out.....Will see how it goes in the next couple of weeks...

The only mob I know that deal with Tmax is Townsville Custom Cycles.

What map are you running and what mods do you have?

i'm no genius on thundermax , ive ran mine for 12 months now , very happy with it , simple to use , you can change lots of imformation , timing , afr's , but i found if after a couple of rides read and write learned imformation to ecm , do that a few times , seems to get ya where ya won'ta go with mapping quicker

I've had mine for 18 months now, speedo has stopped once, f...kd if I know what happened, I turned the bike off, started it & everything was fine .

I just put a 103" BB kit, 54 cams & 50mm TB, loaded a new map which was chosen by Zippers & it was running shit during warm up , did what you said above (reading & writing) & its now running great

The more I learn the happier I am with it.

The speedo stopped once on my bike but it was nothing to do with the T-Max, I can't remember exactly what happened but it was something like I didn't turn the ignition all the way on and the speedo needle just dropped off ???? The bike couldn't run any better with the T-Max, it doesn't pop "ever" and just runs perfectly.

Thundermax is an orsum product. I have custom mapped a PC5 and compared it to the tuned map of a Thundermax and the end result was almost the same. Advantage for the PC5 and custom map is the price and the fact that someone else sets it up, dynos it and gets it right, provided that they are are tuning it with a datalink. Advantage of the Thundermax is that it continually tunes itseft as you ride on the day, providing you have the right info in it. Best advice if money wasn't an option would be to install a Thundermax, then get a good tuner to set it up on a dyno. It will then be ideal. In saying all this, The PC5 can be optioned with auto-tune module, wide band O2 sensors etc. Way to go
