yep mine kept coming off, spoke with the stealer on the phone, their response, use a cable tie to stop it, just had the 8k service done, they didn't do a damn thing to fix it .....

I thought it was just me mate...... Had the shits about the rust on the spokes....... the brake noise......... till I found out all this shit was normal on xlforum  Lucky I'm changing a lot of the shit out for aftermarket then hey?

I had mine doing that after the 1,000 mile service. It kinda needs rotating to fully catch in the clips. That said, these older bikes seem to have clips that are fuct and are doing it for fun. I would've thought the services, if at dealers, could change the clips over. Tightass turds. Really shouldn't call them 'services', cos they don't provide any. "Maintenances" are a better term.

If my time workin on jetskis has taught me anything it is do all the work yourself, but I hesitate when it comes to the bike thinkin if I fuck somethin up hittin the roads gonna hurt a shitload more than the water but at 70mph plus on the water..........what the hell I'm gonna get to know my bike better starting tomorrow

I agree, 08custom - I can pull guitars apart and do all sorts of things with them. I probably could do a fair bit of work myself on a bike - but I can't fall off a guitar and do myself harm... That alone has me leaving it to professionals (some more pro than others). I also don't mind taking on a project if I've at least been able to monkey-see/monkey do first.
