COMANCHERO bikie chief Mick Hawi has surrendered to police and is expected to be charged shortly over the violent brawl at Sydney Airport, his lawyer says.

Mr Hawi was wanted for questioning over a brawl at Sydney Airport last month that resulted in the death of Anthony Zervas, brother of Hells Angel Peter Zervas.

Mr Hawi's lawyer Lesly (Lesly) Randle said she expected Mr Hawi to be charged and apply for bail today after the bikie went to police.

"In accordance with the undertaken given by Mr Hawi and his legal representatives, I accompanied (him) to meet with the police,'' Ms Randle said.

"We will make an application for bail at 2pm (AEST) today.''

Police said a 28-year-old Bexley man and Comanchero member (understood to be Mr Hawi) was arrested about 8.30am this morning at Sydney Central police station.

Charges were expected to be laid, police said.

A week after the airport brawl, Peter Zervas was himself shot several times. He remains in hospital.

Five Comancheros were earlier charged with affray over the March 22 airport incident.

Police on Thursday raided Mr Hawi's southern Sydney home, with the bikie chief reportedly in hiding after a $100,000 contract was put on his head
