I am new to HD ownership, but I wouldn't think this is what you would expect from a '09 883 Sporty with 1000kms on the clock.

Any information you fellas can provide would be helpful.

I want to be fully armed before I go into the stealer.

 

 

I have checked the oil level and it is just above the fill mark, but that is a cold reading.

Have cleaned it up twice now, as I thought it might be the same thing, but  it keeps reappearing.

I was just trying to get some information on what others thought might be causing it so I can go into the dealer with the "Bullshit Meter" switched on!

In the whole scheme of things it is a relatively minor issue, thought others might be interested?

Don't forget you will get a survey from HD in the mail sometime in the future, so if they give you grief, report it in the survey. All new bike buyers get this survey a few months after purchase.

My 09 FXST has the exact same thing happening,I took it into my local dealer yesterday and he said theyd never seen that before ,so they are ringing a tech guy from Harly today ,ill let you know what he says.

Thanks Scotty, I can drop those suggestions of yours into my conversation with the stealer. Might give me some cred so he doesn't just assume I know nothing about it.

wash it with something like brake cleaner its just assembly oil, its pretty common, the dealer will just wash it n say see if it comes back when you take it there anyway.

Washed mine 3 times already but it keeps coming back

Got no info yet, but they do know that im putting the 103 stage 2 kit in so they said they would look into it then .
