............but probably close to it
Ok, talking about my carby has got me wondering something.
When I bought my sporty I was under the impression that it has a Screaming Eagle carby fitted. The cover for the air cleaner has a Screamig Eagle plate on it but I have spotted that you can just buy these things to fit the cover.
So, how do you determine what the hell you've got in the way of a carby??
If it's a Screaming Eagle or Mikuni etc will it have a logo stamped/engraved somewhere or something like that???? and if so where will it be located?
Cheers, Mega!

Mega, The plate on the air cleaner indicates a screamin eagle air cleaner not carb. I don't have much experience directly with the carbed models but from what I've read to do a stage one on a carbed bike you change over the stock jets with bigger ones. So even though your carb may be stock you may have upgraded jets.
I think the SE carbs are just Mikunis with the SE name and the price tag to match. If it's a CV carb with the round plastic cap on top that covers a diaphragm, then it's a stocker. If it's a Mikuni, you've got pretty much the best carb you can get anyway. Having the SE sticker on the air filter cover could just mean it's got an SE air filter fitted. Look up Mikuni HSR42 on the net, it's pretty obvious to look at and looks different to the stock CV carb.
